Breakfast at the hotel. We will first visit the Regional Museum of Ancash, finding the largest park lytic South America, home to around 100 pieces most Recuay culture.

Then we leave the city heading southwest towards the mountains rising to visit the lovely black lagoon Willcacocha (3600m), dressed in wild ducks, where the profile view of the Cordillera Blanca is truly impressive beautiful and imposing snowy peaks.

Altitude: 3600m/11,811ft. Willkacocha is a beautiful lake located in the Cordillera Negra mountain range southwest of Huaraz, Hiking to this beautiful place provides an easy day acclimatization hike to start off with and is suitable for everyone to begin their necessary adjustment to the thinner air experienced at the higher Andean altitudes and its good warm-up before attempting your second and more challenging acclimation walk.

The surrounding astonishing panorama views of spiraling white-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca (White Mountain Range) provides an excellent introductory setting for what the Cordillera Blanca has in store for you.

Peru Amazing Adventures Treks Guide will pick up you at your hotel after breakfast with our private transportation and we´ll drive about 0ne our southeast of Huaraz to the bridge of the Santa Cruz Village where we will start ascending to the Willkacocha Lake. The hike is a gradual ascent up on a local trail for about 45 minutes. Along the way you may expect to meet local Quechua people still wearing their traditional colorful Andean clothes.

You´ll pass close to their traditional adobe houses and see how they have lived for countless centuries surrounded by richly green farm lands where they grow their products as: wheat, corn and potatoes. Upon arriving the lake, you will be amazed with the magnificent views of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range with its highest mountain Huascaran at 6768m/22,205ft. At such a vantage point, you will have the perfect lookout point for enjoying the surrounding breath taking views and shooting some 10 on the drool scale photos and we have lunch enjoying the panorama view, before we begin our easy walk to the Canshan Village main road to Casma.

On our way down youll have the great view of the valley below and of the Cordillera Blanca peaks accompanying you.

Our private transportation will be waiting to take back to Huaraz Hotel. Total time of this acclimation journey is approximately 8 hours.

Avoid eating at street food stalls.
Prevent altitude sickness or soroche by resting on your first day in Huaraz and eating sparingly.
Drink coca leaf tea if you are traveling to the highlands or jungle, take waterproof clothing and insect repellents.
